Srivastav (Sri) Budugutta
President
Srivastav Budugutta (Sri) received his 1st Master's Degree in Software System Engineering and will be receiving his 2nd Master's Degree in Applied Analytics. Sri worked for Intel for nearly 5 years post his 1st Master's Degree in India (Bengaluru) Silicon Valley of India. He is passionate about technology and has published various research papers and published multiple R packages. Outside of work and study, Sri really enjoys the simple things—like spending quality time with friends and being part of community events. Sri likes to draw and play chess in his spare time. For Sri, it’s not just about work; he’s big on giving back and has been involved in various NGO activities, from teaching kids at government schools to lending a hand wherever he can.
Day Yi
Club Advisor
Professor Day has been with the Applied Analytics program since 2017, teaching numerous courses, but mostly APAN 5310 and APAN 5900. He has also taught many workshops through the APAN Club. He had spent 12 years as an actuary with various insurance companies. This led to a transition into the data analytics consulting space. Now, he is a full-time lecturer at Princeton University, teaching courses in data science. He is also a gourmet chef, earning 5-star ratings for his recipe of Korean BBQ!
Ruitong (Vivian) Yin
Vice President
Ruitong (Vivian) Yin received her B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from New York University (NYU). She has a diverse background in the gaming, blockchain, e-commerce, investment, and finance industries. As a member of the APAN club, she is dedicated to strengthening connections within the APAN Community and promoting collaborative growth. In her free time, Vivian enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures. She also loves exploring New York City, including attending different performances, visiting museums and galleries, and checking out new coffee shops and restaurants.
Ningyi Xu
VP of Alumni Relations
Hi! This is Ningyi. I'm from Shenzhen, China and I graduated from Beijing Jiaotong University with a major in Statistics.This is my second semester in Applied Analytics at Columbia University. I have a strong interest in finance and I had several internship experience in private equity and bank, aiming to build a career as a financial analyst with a robust data background. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, traveling and K-pop!!
Brigadesh (Briggs) Mohanram
VP of Business Development
Brigadesh a.k.a Briggs is a passionate and driven individual mastering his skill set in the field of data science and machine learning at Columbia University. With a relentless pursuit of mastery in his field, he is the architect behind groundbreaking data-driven solutions that push the boundaries of innovation. Known for his infectious energy and innate ability to forge meaningful connections, Briggs is more than just a data scientist—he's a catalyst for collaboration and growth. Off-duty, you'll find him dominating the badminton court, where his competitive spirit and strategic prowess shine. Through his passion for play, Briggs finds both relaxation and inspiration, fueling his drive to excel both academically and socially.
Wenqing (Grace) Huang
VP of Event
Wenqing Huang (Grace), currently pursuing a Master of Science in Applied Analytics at Columbia University, brings a solid foundation in Economics and Mathematics from New York University, where she graduated with honors. With a keen focus on data-driven decision-making, Grace has honed her skills in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling. Her professional experience spans roles at Uber and Forvia Group, where she applied advanced analytics to enhance business strategies and improve operational efficiency. Grace is adept at utilizing a range of analytical tools and languages, including SQL, R, Python, and Tableau. She holds a Cornell Certificate in Product Management and has demonstrated her expertise through projects like optimizing surge pricing algorithms and predictive modeling for health insurance. Passionate about leveraging data to drive meaningful insights, Grace is eager to contribute her expertise to innovative analytics projects.
Wenhan (Michael) Xu
VP of Technology
Wenhan Xu (Michael) graduated from Boston University in 2023, where he studied business analytics and finance. Right now, Michael is pursuing Master's degree in applied analytics at Columbia. He had previous internship experience focused on technology, finance, and data analytics. Michael is a crazy sports fan who loves Leo Messi and Kobe Bryant. He is also a person who loves adventure and experiences new things, and he always imagines himself traveling around the world. He loves to make new friends, so please feel free to connect with him!
Yung Hsin(Erin) Hsieh
VP of Marketing
Hello, I'm Erin (Yung Hsin). I hold a bachelor's degree in Economics from National Tsing Hua University and have gained diverse experience in roles related to business and analytics throughout my academic journey. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, exploring restaurants, and traveling. Currently serving as the VP of Marketing at the APAN club, I aim to enhance the club's influence and represent the voice of APAN club students to the community.
Michelle Dong
VP of Finance
Michelle is a driven student at Columbia University excited to be a part of the Applied Analytics community. She received her Bachelors in Mathematics at NYU right before starting her journey at Columbia. She's previously worked in Manhattan during her undergraduate studies and looks forward to continuing her career here for the near future. Outside of school and work Michelle enjoys reading sci-fi, cooking with friends, tennis, attending music shows, traveling, and playing various board games. She enjoys connecting with others, so please feel free to reach out!
Siyu Ye
AVP of Business Research
My name is Siyu Ye, and you can call me Sara. I finished my undergraduate degree at University of Ottawa in Finance, so I had some internship experiences in the finance industry before. I began as an accountant at DJI and audited at E&Y. Then, I got into a state-owned company as a business analyst and entered a securities company as a deal execution intern. Besides work, I'm also interested in piano, painting, reading, etc. I look forward to collaborating with like-minded peers in the club to contribute to the activities and connections. Thank you!
Wenxuan(Alice) Wu
AVP of Business Research
Hi, I am Wenxuan(Alice) Wu – a graduate student in the Applied Analytics Program. I got my bachelor's degree from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in 2023, majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Economic Statistics. I also accumulated practical experience in the working environment when I did my internship related to macroeconomic research. My goal is to apply data skills to solve real-world problems and improve the business. During my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, walking near nature, and making some handicrafts.
Vidhi Mansharamani
AVP of Business Development
Vidhi holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, having enriched her knowledge through extensive exchange programs, such as a research internship at the Georgia Institute of Technology and an entrepreneurship bootcamp at Babson. With nearly three years of extensive work experience as a Senior Software Engineer at HSBC, her role predominantly revolved around backend development, particularly focusing on processing and analyzing massive datasets for data-driven projects. In her capacity as a technical lead, she spearheaded numerous initiatives, showcasing a profound understanding of technical concepts. Vidhi's professional fervor lies in leveraging predictive analytics and optimization methods to augment, streamline, and optimize business operations across various industry verticals.
Peng (Angela) Chen
AVP of Event
Peng Chen (Angela) received her B.S. in Finance from Rutgers Business School. After graduation, she joined Bachi.Tech, a cryptocurrency company, as a Financial Accounting Intern, and later continued her career at Hooli Homes New York Inc. as a Market Analyst. To further enhance her expertise in business research and analytics, Angela is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Applied Analytics at Columbia University. She brings valuable insights into research, financial modeling, and strategic company analysis. Angela is outgoing and thrives on building relationships with people from various backgrounds. Her hobbies include traveling, reading novels, comics, anime, and playing tennis and table tennis. She enjoys sharing happiness with people around her.
Emma Akue
AVP of Event
Emma holds a degree in biotechnology and psychology and is currently furthering her education with a Master's in Applied Analytics at Columbia University. With a background deeply rooted in science and human behavior, she brings a unique perspective to the field of data analysis. Emma is committed to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation and create impactful solutions. Outside of academia and professional endeavors, Emma enjoys immersing herself in the graceful art of ballet, volunteering her time at non-profits across NYC, contributing to charity galas, and indulging in the treasures of French and British literature.
Junjie Wang
AVP of Marketing
Junjie Wang, hailing from Shanghai, China, embodies a fervent dedication to the dynamic realm of data science. Before Columbia, Junjie obtained his undergrad degree at the University of Wisconsin–Madison with an accounting major. Now, as the Applied Analytics Program Representative and a key member of the Social Committee within the SPS Student Government, Junjie extends his passion beyond academic pursuits. At APAN Club, Junjie leveraged his skill sets to enhance the club’s content creation and social media presence. In his free time, he enjoys gym exercise and cooking.
